
Georg Picot is a Departmental Lecturer in Comparative Social Policy and Associate Member at Nuffield College. His research interests are in politics of social policy, labour market transformations, labour market policy, family policy, and historical welfare state research. He obtained his Ph.D. in political science from the University of Milan and worked at the Collegio Carlo Alberto in Turin as well as at the University of Heidelberg. His current research examines, generally, the relation between political parties and the welfare state. More specifically, he is interested in how welfare states shape the social composition of national electorates and, hence, party politics.
