Last week Professor Frances Gardner and Dr Jamie Lachman presented to over 2000 delegates at the annual Ako Paro Sa Bata conference in Manila. Organised by the Child Protection Network, the conference draws together academics, policy-makers and practitioners from around the world - this year around the theme of 'The science and art of parenting today's youth'.

Frances and Jamie were there to talk about parenting interventions, and in particular their pilot cultural adaptation and evaluation of Parenting for Lifelong Health in the Philippines. The results of the trial will help evidence whether this program be scaled up in the Philippines as it has been elsewhere around the world. Funding for the PLH Philippines study is from the UBS Optimus Foundation and UNICEF Philippines
