OxPop launches new demography blog

Researchers in OXPOP have developed a demography blog, openpop.org to raise the profile of and facilitate discussion around demographic issues.

Openpop.org is an academic collaborative blog. Its mission is threefold:

  • to maximise the economic and social impact of population research through engagement with policymakers, industry, the media and other stakeholders;
  • to raise the profile of demography and population studies as a discipline; and
  • to enhance links between researchers around the world.

The blog was developed by Dr Stuart Basten and Professor Francesco Billeri at the University of Oxford with funding from the Higher Education Innovation Fund.

OxPop was a research unit in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. The work of this unit is now found in the OISP research group Family Policy, Gender and Demographic Change.
