Demography is not destiny.
A new book out this week by Stuart Gietel-Basten and Danny Dorling looks at why studies in demography are so often pessimistic, and how our understanding of demography needs to change.
Stuart has been Associate Professor of Social Policy at DSPI since 2013. He has been on research leave in 2017 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. At the end of this term, he is leaving our Department to become Associate Professor of Social Science and Public Policy at HKUST. All at DSPI wish Stuart very well for the future!
Why Demography Matters is published by Polity.
