Luis is a Postdoctoral Research Officer in the Employment, Equity, and Growth group at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, and an Associate Member of Nuffield College. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford. The thesis focused on the role of technological change and skills in the development of the labour market, inequality and the middle class.
Luis is working with Brian Nolan and Matteo Richiardi on a project about Inclusive Growth. Current research focuses on the relation between productivity and wages, and the effect of taxation and subsidies on labour market issues like job insecurity. Luis is also interested in Philosophy of Economics, Methodology of Economics, and History of Economic Thought.
