Research interests: The effects of technological and institutional change on wage inequality
Matthias' current research investigates how technological and institutional change jointly influence wage inequality. In particular, he is interested in the potential of labour market institutions to contain rising inequality in advanced economies facing the effects of technological change.
Prior to commencing the DPhil in Social Policy, Matthias completed the MSc in Comparative Social Policy at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention and obtained a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a focus on Governance, from University College Freiburg, Germany. He is a member of Nuffield College and his research is funded by the Barnett House-Nuffield Scholarship.
