Cristiana Orlando

I am an MSc student in Comparative Social Policy and a member of Wolfson College. I have recently finished my degree at the University of Cambridge in Anthropology and Sociology. My research interest include analysing how changing social security measures affect the lives of single-mothers and their children, looking at the broader implications this has for gender issues in relation to poverty, social exclusion and children's education.

Prior to joining the DSPI I have been involved with organisations such as Student Community Action, a Cambridge-based charity working with children from disadvantaged backgrounds to improve their performance in school, and Teach First, a charity which works to address educational inequality in England and Wales.
