James Dickson

James is a 2016 – 2018 Pershing Square scholar studying for an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation, as part of the Oxford 1+1 MBA programme. James has prior degrees from the University of Waikato in New Zealand, the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Strasbourg in France, and the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in Austria. He comes to the MSc programme from several years working in the United Nations, in both the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the International Atomic Energy Agency, where he worked in strategic planning and policy development. His interests lie in understanding the effectiveness of social policy and programmes, issues of crime prevention and human security, energy access and climate change, and use of new technologies and data for promoting social and economic development.
