Matthias Haslberger is reading for an MSc in Comparative Social Policy and is a member of Kellogg College. He obtained a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences: Governance from the University of Freiburg, where he also worked as a research assistant at the Department of Economics. During his junior year, he spent a semester in the United States at Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University.
During his undergraduate studies, he dealt with issues as diverse as comparative economic development, human rights law, income inequality, and social security. With his strong background in economics and political science, his current research interests include trends in income inequality in rich countries, the determinants of educational attainment and educational inequality, and social mobility.
