Alexandra joined the department following several years in management consulting, where she gained experience working with a range of governmental bodies including local councils and the NHS. During this time, she gained experiencing in researching demographic, health and deprivation statistics and analysing their impact on government policy. Alexandra is interested in better understanding how the private sector can collaborate with government to effect social policy. In addition, she is interested in researching social mobility, particularly access to higher education, as well as the interplay of urban policy with social mobility. Alexandra studied for a bachelor’s degree in international relations at the University of Birmingham.
