Ashly is currently reading for a MSc in Comparative Social Policy (CSP) and is a member of St Cross college.
Originally from a Colombian-English background, Ashly was born and raised in France. She completed a Bachelor of Sciences in Social Sciences at University College London (UCL). During her undergraduate degree, she interned in Civil Service at the Department for International Trade (DIT) and worked closely with the Department of Social Sciences at UCL on a student-led project.
These experiences led her to develop a keen interest in the application of social disciplines to policy-making and everyday politics. Ashly’s area of research looks at the role of new technologies and their effects on social and organisational relationships. For this year's thesis, she aims to study how policy frameworks address issues of technology and well-being, notably regarding inequality in IT skills and labour automatisation.
