Dr Eve Worth

I am a social historian currently working on the Changing Elites project here at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. I am particularly interested in the gendered nature of elite formation and how this has changed over time.  I have recently completed a Junior Research Fellowship in History at St Hilda’s College, University of Oxford. My research focuses on women’s experience in Britain since 1945 and how this interacts with broader social, political, and economic change. Key themes of my research include social mobility; relationships to the welfare state as employer and educator; working motherhood; and the use of personal testimony source material.
