Dr Philip Davies

Philip Davies is the Deputy Director of the Systematic Reviews section at the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation.

He received a PhD in Sociology from University of California, San Diego and has held academic positions at the Universities of Oxford, Aberdeen, University of California, San Diego. 

Perviously he is Executive Director of the public policy consultancy Oxford Evidentia. He held positions as Senior Research Fellow at the American Institutes for Research and as Executive Director of the Campbell Collaboration. He worked with the African Union Commission and the World Bank on the evaluation of poverty reduction programs. 

As senior civil servant of the UK Cabinet Office (2000-2007) he co-authored the Green and Magenta book on impact assessment and evaluation. He has also consulted government departments in Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden and the USA.
