Jennifer Allsopp

Jennifer Allsopp is a DPhil student funded by the Economic and Social Research Council. Her research is part of a larger comparative research project on the trajectories and wellbeing of young people subject to immigration control in Europe, led by Dr Elaine Chase (University of Oxford) and Dr Nando Sigona (University of Birmingham). Jennifer previously completed an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration in the Department of International Development, also at the University of Oxford. 
 

Research

Jennifer's research explores the experiences of unaccompanied young migrants and refugees who are subject to immigration control in Italy and England. Prior to beginning her DPhil she worked on a number of research projects at the universities of Exeter, Birmingham and Oxford and at the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS) including on asylum appeals, gender, poverty, youth migration and EU immigration policy. She has also worked with a range of refugee and migrant organisations and is a regular contributor and commissioning editor focusing on gender and equality at openDemocracy 50.50.
