Jiayun Wang

Jiayun Wang is an MPhil candidate in Comparative Social Policy. She is supervised by Dr Rebecca Surender and was previously supervised by Professor Bernhard Ebbinghaus. Her research primarily focuses on health care systems and elderly care policies in Europe and East Asia. More specifically, she initially intends to explore the social-political determinants of the policy framework for long-term care insurance across countries. Besides, she is highly interested in the political-economic logic in the evolution of China's social health insurance schemes.

Before joining the department, Jiayun obtained a Master of Science in Sociology (Research) from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also worked as a full-time research assistant at the Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR) of the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) in China. The two-year working experience helps her accumulate practical knowledge and cultivate her passion for social policy, especially health policy.
