Katelyn Turner

Katelyn graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland, College Park with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Government and Politics and Philosophy (with Honors) and a minor in Bassoon Performance in May 2018. Her undergraduate thesis combined her interest in Black/African American history, civil rights legislation, and political philosophy by evaluating the affirmative action debate in the United States through the lens of racial epistemology. Her current research seeks to illuminate the impact of structural discrimination on the health of racial/ethnic minorities in the US, particularly at the intersection of race and gender.
