Maira is a MPhil candidate in Evidence-based Intervention and Policy Evaluation. Her research studies the effectiveness and implementation of the child protection system in Mexico, she focusses on the programmes and interventions that target “street children”.
Before coming to Oxford, she worked as a programme manager in the Mexican philanthropic sector, where she coordinated the grant allocation schemes, supported the delivery of programmes, and monitored programme budgets. And as a consultant in a Social Enterprise that employs indigenous artisans, there she collaborated in the community-based intervention´s monitoring and evaluation strategies. She holds a MSc in Sociology from the London School of Economics and an BA in Cultural and Social Entrepreneurship from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.
