Malindi is a medical doctor from Australia studying the MSc in Evidence Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation on a Rhodes Scholarship. She graduated from the University of Western Australia at the end of 2016 receiving honours for both her Bachelor of Medical Science and Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery, respectively. Throughout her training, Malindi was heavily involved with various charities and health promotion initiatives that aimed to educate and empower vulnerable individuals to make healthy choices. She also spent time living and working across rural areas of Australia in a clinical capacity. These experiences have fostered her interest in public health and health inequalities in rural communities. At the DSPI, Malindi hopes to develop the theoretical and practical skills to critically evaluated and develop community based healthcare programs in order to work on rural health issues in the future.
