Matthew Ding

Matthew is an MSc Comparative Social Policy student with a focus on health policy and inequalities within East Asia. Prior to Oxford, he completed a dual B.A. in Public Health and Economics from Brown University.

In addition, Matthew worked within the resource mobilization and innovative financing division of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance in Geneva, where he primarily supported the fund-raising for the COVAX program. In addition, at Gavi, Matthew helped develop a partnership between Orange and USAID to build digital public infrastructure to support routine vaccination.

His thesis will investigate inequalities among social support recipients during the pandemic with a specific focus on Korea and Taiwan.

Matthew has also been involved with podcasts on immigrant businesses in the US and is hoping to curate his own photography series.
