Mengyao Lu is a DPhil student in Social Intervention and a member of St. Catherine’s College.
Mengyao’s primary research interest focuses on child sexual abuse prevention in developing country settings. Prior to joining the department, Mengyao received comprehensive school social work training by providing individual and group counselling to children and adolescents aged 8-16 in a public school located in west Philadelphia and facilitating summer learning programs in the Free Library of Philadelphia. Currently, Mengyao is also working as a research assistant on reducing mental illness stigma in rural China with the research team in the University of Pennsylvania.
Mengyao completed her Master’s degree of Social Work from University of Pennsylvania with a specialization of Child Well-Being and Child Welfare and Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Minzu University of China.
