Paula is a Research Assistant in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. She is part of the Parenting for Lifelong Health (PLH) ParentText team. ParentText is a digital chatbot adaptation of the PLH programme, which aims to increase playful and positive parenting practices and decrease child maltreatment in low and middle income settings. PLH parenting resources are open access, evidence-based and developed in partnership with WHO, UNICEF, and academic institutions. Paula’s research focus is primarily on the optimisation of user engagement for digital behaviour change interventions.
Paula holds an MA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Edinburgh and a Master’s in Developmental and Health Psychology from the University of Amsterdam. Throughout her Master’s, Paula’s research focused on both digital and in-person parenting and health interventions, with an emphasis on user engagement. During her undergraduate degree, Paula also became a certified developmental play practitioner.
