DPhil Student

Olya is a Clarendon Scholar and DPhil candidate in Social Policy interested in conceptualization and measurement of poverty. Her doctoral project is investigating the relationship between the perception of distributional injustice and individual experience of poverty in Ukraine. Her research is mainly qualitative, using in-depth interviews and participatory methodology.

Olya holds an MSc from the University of Oxford in Comparative Social Policy, funded by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, and a BS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, New York.

 

Prior to her DPhil and MSc work, Olya worked as a research assistant at the Cornell Institute for Compensation Studies and as paralegal at Shepherd, Finkelman, Miller and Shah, LLP.
