Rachel is a first year DPhil student in Social Policy. She is a member of Brasenose College and also holds an MSc in Contemporary Chinese Studies from the University of Oxford. Her research focuses on the politics of social policymaking in China, specifically how policy experiments in birth planning have contributed to the recent loosenings in China's so-called "One Child Policy". Before coming to Oxford in 2013, Rachel graduated from Wofford College in South Carolina, where she double majored in Mandarin and Economics and played on the volleyball team.
