Rachel comes to Oxford from Lexington, Kentucky. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2017, with a B.A. in English literature and writing, rhetoric & digital studies (WRD). Following graduation, she worked as a research assistant at the Kettering Foundation in Dayton, Ohio, and studied citizen-centered approaches to politics and social change. Rachel’s family is from the Appalachian region of Kentucky, and she is passionate about issues of health, education and welfare in these rural, post-industrial communities. She hopes to study the factors that increase community resilience through the MSc.
