Sophie Hall is a Bakala scholar reading for an MSc in Comparative Social Policy. Her research interests include the gender dimension of the welfare state, both how social policy is shaped by gender norms and how social policy shapes and sustains gender relationships and identity. She is also interested in multi-level governance and social policy in the European Union.
Sophie holds a Bachelors’ degree in Politics and Modern History at the University of Zurich and spent a semester at the Freie University Berlin. Throughout her undergraduate degree, Sophie was an active volunteer in civic education and youth engagement, and is currently the Chair of the Governing Body of the European Youth Parliament.
