Xue Chen is reading for MPhil in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation (EBSIPE) and a member of St Catherine’s College. Prior to joining the department, she completed her Master’s degree of International Health Policy from the London School of Economics.
Xue has a broad interest in improving the effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare system, with a special focus on evaluating the effectiveness or “cost-effectiveness” of health policies in terms of improving value-added patient outcome measures. She is also interested in whether and through what mechanisms can different social interventions/policies address health inequalities. Her research is mainly quantitative, using quasi-experimental research designs.
