Yuwei is reading for MPhil in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation and a member of St Hilda’s College. She graduated from Fudan University with a BSc in Social Work and conducted two social work practicums in mental health center and children’s medical center in Shanghai. Prior to joining the department, She worked as research assistant for several projects in Fudan University, like “Community Social Capital and Older Adult’s Health Research” and “Research on Care Work, Migration, and Gender in a Global Context” as well as supervisor for “Shanghai Community Survey” project from 2019 to 2020.
Yuwei is generally interested in both the area of child welfare and the area of mental health services. She would like to improve the effectiveness of child protection system and mental health services as well as eliminate the stigma around mental health problems in low-and-middle-income countries. Through systematic review in relevant fields, she would like to identify those effective components of interventions and policies to implement more evidence-based programs and advocacy in those countries, especially her hometown China.
