Zezhen (Michael) Wu

Zezhen Wu is a first-year MPhil student reading for an MPhil in Evidence-based Social Intervention. Before coming to Oxford, he received an Ed.M. degree in Arts in Education at Harvard University, where he designed and implemented music- and technology-centered courses and interventions to help students develop a variety of stress-coping strategies and innovation skills. He also holds a Bachelor’s  degree in Psychology from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. His thesis was on The Effects of Affirmation Intervention on Chinese Adolescents’ Stress Coping Ability and Academic Performance.

Zezhen’s research focuses on the intersection of psychology and education, specifically the design of large-scale educational interventions to improve the mental health states of urban teenagers in China, as well as the application of rigorous quantitative methods in evaluating educational policies.
