Ziyanah is reading for an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation. Prior to coming to Oxford, she was working as an international development consultant, primarily implementing and evaluating local governance and peacebuilding projects in Afghanistan. She holds a BA with high distinction from the University of Virginia, where she double majored in History and Women, Gender, and Sexuality and minored in Middle Eastern Studies.
Ziyanah intends to use her thesis to explore how experiences of intimate partner violence impact mothers’ uptake of parenting interventions. She is committed to keeping the prevention of violence against women, youth, and other marginalized communities, specifically in conflict or transitioning settings, an integral part of her professional pursuits in the future.
