Dr Michael Ganslmeier

Dr Michael Ganslmeier is an Assistant Professor in Computational Social Science at the Centre for Computational Social Science (C2S2) in the Department of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Exeter.

In his research, he uses causal inference, policy evaluation and machine learning approaches to answer questions related to climate change, population aging and electoral behaviour. He combines quasi-experimental methods with large-scale administrative and survey data, often in partnership with governments and international organisations such as the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.

Before joining Exeter, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Methodology at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and received his PhD in Social Policy from the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford. He is also actively involved in interdisciplinary initiatives to bring rigorous evidence into public debate and policymaking.
