I am a graduate student reading for the MSc in Comparative Social Policy at Green Templeton College, having previously completed a BA in History at Hertford College, Oxford. Whilst studying for my undergraduate degree, I chaired a student-run homelessness campaign, which successfully defeated Oxford City Council’s attempt to ban rough sleeping in the city centre. My work on this campaign inspired me to learn more about the policy process, and I was attracted by the Department’s comparative approach to researching difficult social problems. My research interests centre on the links between homelessness and benefit conditionality, and representations of homelessness in government, media and civil society.Â
