Kristen is a Programme Manager in the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. She manages a portfolio of grants for The Accelerate Team, overseeing timelines, budgets, staff, and processes to ensure project teams are delivering impactful work. She provides strategic management support to the HEY BABY and ParentApp teams, assists with operational leadership for the UKRI GCRF Accelerating Achievements for Africa’s Adolescents Hub and works with the wider Hub advocacy team on the management of key partners and stakeholders. 

Kristen’s educational background is rooted in healthcare - she graduated from Mount Royal University with a bachelor of nursing and from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine with a diploma in tropical nursing and an MSc in reproductive and sexual health research. Her passion for gender equality, just development and community driven approaches led her to work for nonprofits and a social enterprise where she still serves as an advisor and trustee. Prior to working for the department, she was a Research Fellow at LSHTM working for the Vaccine Confidence Group. In her previous management roles, she helped to design, build and implement programmes to promote gender equality, HIV prevention, confidence in vaccination programmes and access to education.Â
