I am an applied microeconomist with research interests in labour, development and family economics. My work focuses on how gender relations and social norms shape inequalities over the life course - both within households and in the labour market. At DSPI, my research focuses on improving outcomes for adolescent girls and young women across Africa. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Liverpool.
Outside academia, I spent nearly a decade working in social policy in India - particularly gender and child responsive public finance management - with organisations such as UNICEF, UN Women, and state governments. I hold a Masters degree from the London School of Economics, for which I was awarded the Chevening Scholarship (2016–17) by the UK FCDO and LSE.
