Miya is currently reading for the MSc in Comparative Social Policy. She is interested in how redistributive and industrial policies affect inequality and economic mobility, and how political factors influence welfare state reform. Her research focuses on the role of industrial policy in shaping labour markets and the future of work amid technological change.
Miya holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. She has interned with the United Nations, the White House, and the United States Congress, and worked for former Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign. She currently serves as a research assistant for former US Secretary of Labor Robert Reich’s non-profit, Inequality Media, producing digital content on economic inequality and democratic governance that has reached over one billion views.
