Gabriela de Carvalho is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP) at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She holds a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Bremen and Master’s degrees in Political Science from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and in Latin American Development from King’s College London. Her research focuses on comparative social policy, healthcare systems, and the historical development of welfare institutions in a global perspective, with particular attention to the Global South.
During her visit to the Department of Social Policy and Intervention at the University of Oxford, Gabriela will work on a theoretical and empirical paper examining differences in the development of healthcare systems in a global perspective, focusing on healthcare system segmentation.
