Margarita León (BA, MA, PhD London School of Economics is Full professor of Political Science at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Previously she held a lectureship in European social policy at the University of Kent (2003-2010) and a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowhsip at the European University Institute in Florence (2001-03). In 2018 she was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at University of Berkeley, California. Her main areas of research are comparative social policy and welfare state reform. She has published in numerous international peer-reviewed scientific journals; co-edited with A. Guillén The Spanish Welfare State in European Context (2011, Routledge) and edited The Transformation of Care in European Societies (2014, Palgrave). She is also the author of The Social Contract: inequality, social pact and the welfare state published in Spanish in 2023.
