Christina Wang

Christina Wang is currently reading for the MPhil in Comparative Social Policy. Her research interests broadly focus on the economics of education policy and the impacts of various school funding models on student outcomes. In addition to her studies, Christina is also involved with the Oxford Development Consultancy, a student-run society providing pro-bono research and consultancy services to global NGOs.

Prior to Oxford, Christina taught high school English in the United States for three years. Whilst teaching, she obtained her Master's in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. Christina earned distinction on her dissertation, where she utilised qualitative research methods to investigate how student agency could help cultivate academic rigor in her classroom. Before entering the classroom, Christina interned at Listenwise, an EdTech platform using radio stories to help teach students literacy skills.

Christina holds a BA in Politics and English and a minor in Education from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine, USA. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude, and with Departmental Honours in Politics. At Bates, Christina was one of twenty students in her class recognized as a Dana Scholar for her academic and leadership potential.
