Alexis Wong

Alexis is studying for the MPhil in Comparative Social Policy. Academically, she is interested in the politics of labour and the distinct responsibilities each sector holds in the provision of social welfare. In her thesis, she intends to investigate the relationship between philanthropy and the state in Asia.

Alexis holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Sociology and English Literature from the National University of Singapore. Prior to joining Oxford, she also spent time working in Singapore's philanthropic and wider social impact sector, where she developed an interest in the mechanisms and implications of public-private partnerships in the provision of public goods and services. She hopes to further develop this interest through her own research.
