Arianna Tassinari

Arianna studied MSc Comparative Social Policy from 2012-2013, when her supervisor was Professor Georg Picot, now at the University of Bergen.

She then worked in applied policy research in various institutions for two years at Eurofound and the Institute for Employment Studies, before deciding to return to academia and completing a PhD in Industrial Relations at the University of Warwick from 2015-2019.

Arianna subsequently took up a Max Weber Postdoc Fellowship at the European University Institute in 2019-2020, and since 2020 I have been a Senior Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne, Germany.

She said: 'The MSc was very instrumental for kickstarting my academic career - I have developed my profile as a comparative political economist on the basis of the training and inspiration I received during the MSc, and since then I have continued to pursue research in the field of labour market policy and on the politics of labour market regulation. This is an interest which I started pursuing during my MSc thesis.'
