Following an undergraduate degree in psychology (Columbia University), Evan completed the MSc and DPhil in Evidence-Based Social Intervention. At Barnett House, Evan worked with Paul Montgomery and others on research about interventions for psychological and social problems.
After completing his degree, Evan joined the Department of Clinical, Educational, and Health Psychology at University College London (UCL) as a Senior Research Associate, where his research focused on methods for conducting and synthesising studies of complex interventions. At UCL, Evan worked with the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH) and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to develop guidelines for the treatment of mental health problems in England in Wales.
Evan recently joined the faculty of Johns Hopkins University (Department of Epidemiology, Bloomberg School of Public Health). His current work focuses on the transparent reporting of clinical trials and methods for conducting systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
