Jad Moawad recently completed his PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Lausanne. His research focused on the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, examining its far-reaching effects on various aspects of society, including income and health inequalities.

Jad has worked with large-scale surveys such as the European Union Statistics on Income and Living Conditions (EU-SILC) and the Luxembourg Income Study (LIS). Recently he has also started designing experiments. These are aimed at understanding societal attitudes towards wealth redistribution.

In June 2023, Jad was awarded a Swiss National Science Foundation fellowship to conduct postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford. His next project will investigate wealth inequalities between different stratified subgroups. He will also analyse consumption and savings patterns across European countries.Â
