Joe Feyertag

Joe is a Research Fellow in Agricultural Development and Policy at the Overseas Development Institute (ODI) in London. He completed his MSc and D.Phil. in Social Policy at DSPI in 2013 after working in the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Joe’s research interests at ODI centre on the social and economic impact of agricultural investments, particularly in emerging markets where comprehensive welfare systems tend not to exist. He investigates how responsible investment can help provide social protection and services, improve food security, ensure gender equality and secure land rights in communities often characterised by deep, entrenched rural poverty.

Alongside his work at ODI, Joe is active in the Department and has taught the undergraduate social policy module at DSPI since 2011.
