Julius' DPhil explored European level coordination of domestic administrations. In particular, he is interested in EU networks and how they support welfare state institutions in sharpening their administrative capacities. His research emphasises integration and migration as social policy challenges. His work was supervised by Prof Bernhard Ebbinghaus. Julius was a member of St Antony's College and attended Oxford on the Department's Centenary Scholarship. Before joining the department, Julius worked for +2 years at McKinsey & Company, primarily with public and social sector institutions and insurance companies across Europe. He graduated with an MPA/MPP dual degree from the London School of Economics and the Hertie School of Governance. He also holds a BA in Political Sciences from Freie Universität Berlin and Sciences Po Paris.
