Joe Hasell is a DPhil candidate at the Department of Social Policy and Intervention. His research is funded by Oxford-Wolfson-Marriott Graduate Scholarship in Social Policy and Intervention.
Joe’s main research interests relate to economic inequality, with an emphasis on understanding global, long-run changes in within-country distributions. In his dissertation, Joe is investigating the role of housing and related policy as a driver of wealth and income inequality within high-income countries, drawing insight from both national accounts and household survey data.
He is a contributing author at Our World in Data, an online publication focussing on the world's most pressing concerns in human development, as well as the online inequality database, the Chartbook of Economic Inequality.
He holds an MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Naples, Federico II and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.
