Aliyah Hurt

Aliyah is a MSc Evidence Based Social Intervention and Policy Evaluation candidate. She is supervised by Dr Aaron Reeves.

In her own research, Aliyah investigates the antecedents and consequences of sexual violence, the feasibility of universal health insurance in the US, and how social policies can be translated to the US context.

Professionally, Aliyah is a Research Manager for the OUR SPACE (Oxford Understanding Relationships, Sex, Power, Abuse, and Consent Experiences) project. The OUR SPACE research study is focused on the attitudes and experiences regarding sexual harassment and violence among higher education students and is led by Dr Bridget Steele and Dr David Humphreys. The purpose of conducting this study is to better understand an important aspect of culture and student life at the University of Oxford.

Previously, Aliyah worked in Washington DC as a Consultant at Deloitte within their Government and Public Services practice. In this role, Aliyah gained research, project management, and policy generation/evaluation experience through supporting numerous federal health clients.

In 2021 Aliyah graduated from Florida State University with two Bachelors’ Degrees, one in Public Health and the other in Political Science.
